Dr. Jay Zwischenberger was one of 12 specialists inducted into the 2016 class of Fellows of the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (FELSO) during a special awards ceremony at the ELSO Annual Conference on September 17, 2016 in San Diego.

According to Dr. James Fortenberry, past chair of ELSO and Pediatrician-in-Chief of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, FELSO members are a highly select group elected based on their extraordinary and distinctive contributions to the art and science of extracorporeal support. Inductees are selected from multidisciplinary fields and from around the world.

Contributions include groundbreaking care delivery, innovations in research and device development, and game-changing leadership.
