Nationally acclaimed vascular surgeon, Jack Cronenwett, MD, will be the featured speaker at the second annual Gordon Hyde Lectureship in Vascular Surgery on Wednesday morning, April 19, from 7 – 8 am in the Pavilion A Auditorium of the UK Chandler Medical Center.

There will be a breakfast reception about 30 minutes prior to the lecture just outside the auditorium, so attendees are advised to come early.

Dr. Cronenwett is a professor of surgery with the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC). He was chair of the section of Vascular Surgery at DHMC from 1984 – 2007. Other leadership roles include being  past President of the New England Society for Vascular Surgery, the Association of Program Directors in Vascular Surgery, and the Society of Vascular Surgery.

In his lecture, “Sharing Data to Improve the Quality of Vascular Health,” Dr. Cronenwett will share his experience and expertise acquired as Medical Director of the Society for Vascular Surgery Patient Safety Organization, “a consortium of over 400 hospitals organized into 17 regional quality improvement groups that share clinical data to improve vascular healthcare.” In 2017, he also took on the role of Chief Medical Officer for Medstreaming/M2S, which “provides informatics support to registries and physicians.”

Case presentations will follow Dr. Cronenwett’s lecture.

The UK Department of Surgery has created a dedicated website for the Gordon L. Hyde Lectureship in Vascular Surgery  where participants can download a copy of the registration form.

In addition to the lecture, participants are invited to join the Vascular Surgery faculty at Keeneland for lunch in the Phoenix Room and an afternoon of thoroughbred horse racing.
