Ivy Cheng, third year medical student, awarded First Prize in Young Investigator's Competition by the International College of Angiology. 

Ms. Cheng's presentation was entitled: Long Term Outcomes of Carotid Endarterectomy with Primary Closure. This project was developed under the mentorship and guidance of Dr. Sibu Saha, Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery.

The purpose of this competition is to encourage young physicians, research fellows and trainees to engage in high quality research, which forms the basis for future achievement in the pathophysiology of disease, diagnosis and treatment. The Scientific Committee judged entries on originality, innovatiion, scientific merit, presentation, and relevance.

In addition to a cash award, Ms. Cheng received a one-year Associate Membership in the International College of Angiology.
