Department of Surgery welcomes Mandy Bucy as a new division administrator

In January, Department of Surgery Administrator Shawn Coffey officially welcomed Mandy Bucy as the new division administrator for Cardiothoracic Surgery, Plastic Surgery, and Dermatology.

She joins the Department of Surgery administrative team which, in addition to Coffey, includes associate administrator Dijana Zaimovich, and fellow division administrators Sally Grasch and Pete Rogers.

Bucy began her UK career began with the Department of Surgery in 1990 under the leadership of Dr. Byron Young. Over the course of nearly three decades, she has worked in the Colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nursing. Just prior to her latest appointment, she was coordinator of Human Resources and Faculty Affairs in the College of Nursing.

It is a pleasure to return home to the Department of Surgery, she said. She has already enjoyed meeting with new faculty and staff and looks forward to the diversity of work that lies ahead.
