Chang named to Becker’s 100 health system chief medical officers to know
UK HealthCare Chief Medical Officer Phillip Chang, MD, was named to the Becker’s Healthcare list of “100 hospital and health system chief medical officers to know” for 2019.
Featured physician leaders have demonstrated a commitment to improving their organizations through leadership development, patient safety initiatives, health information technology and quality improvement.
Chang has been instrumental in combating the opioid epidemic in Kentucky and beyond by leading efforts to change opioid prescribing practices in the hospital. As a result, patients are going home with 50 percent less opioids.
Along with serving as chief medical officer, Chang is on the UK HealthCare Ambulatory Oversight Committee, Executive Finance Committee and Executive Management Committee.
