Dr. Rinker's manuscript, “The Use of Dermal Autograft as an Adjunct to Breast Reconstruction with Tissue Expanders”(Plast. Reconstr. Surg. 130: 1179, 2012) has won “BEST BREAST PAPER” in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for calendar 2012.

These awards are presented as part of the events for Plastic Surgery- The Meeting 2013 in San Diego. The Awards Ceremony was scheduled for 3:15 to 3:30 pm, Sunday, October 13, 2013 at the PRS booth in the ASPS Resource Center, San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California.

The Editorial and Publishing staff scoured data for all manuscripts published in 2012 to determine the number of full text article views, number of PDF views, number of times sent by email and the number of times the article was added to a personal collection on PRSJournal.com. The data was further calculated to represent the average number of times per month those activities occurred. This average data was combined to create a score for each manuscript, placing them on equal footing, independent of publication month. The articles were sorted by score, and selected based on pre-existing categories. Your paper was, by a distinct margin, the best breast paper, based on the criteria indicated above.

As a recipient of a 2013 Best Paper Award (for manuscripts published in 2012), Dr. RInker received a framed certificate commemorating his achievement at the presentation at the San Diego meeting, special attention in advertisements within Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and special mention on PRSJournal.com as well as social outlets and a press release.
