When Austin Wellette-Hunsucker left his home state of Michigan to earn his PhD at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, his family was incredibly supportive. They continue to be his most vocal cheerleaders.

Thirteen University of Kentucky undergraduate researchers will present their work at the 23rd annual Posters-at-the-Capitol on March 6. The event will feature research topics including community health, agricultural sustainability, renewable energy and public health and safety.

Researchers at the University of Kentucky have a better understanding of the regulation of extracellular vesicles by oxidative stress and how these vesicles spread oxidative stress and may damage neurons. Extracellular vesicles are nanoparticles released by all cell types that help transport information between cells.
