Physiology Events Physiology Research Day Physiology Research Day Physiology Research Day 2023 The event takes place at the Gatton Student Center, Grand Ballrooms on May 19, 2023. Registration is open now until May 5. Register Here Research Showcase Six slots are available for postdocs, graduate students, staff and undergraduates to give 10-minute podium presentations. Nominations require a brief synopsis (500 words or less) of your research project, your CV or resume and a brief recommendation letter from your PI. Submit your nomination packet on the registration site by April 21. Participate Poster Pitches Drive traffic to your poster by using 90 seconds to advertise your work. Be creative on one slide. Animation on the slide is allowed this year! You must submit your slide by May 12 to Tanya Graf. Participate Faculty Presentations - New Techniques and Technologies Faculty are encouraged to present brief overviews of new technologies or new techniques available in the department. If you would like to present in this session, select this session on the registration site by April 28. Participate Poster Sessions All posters will be judged in one of two judging sessions – odd numbered posters in Session I and even numbered posters in Session 2. Presenters are allotted 15 minutes to present their work and field questions from the judges. We recommend no more than a 10-minute presentation to allow at least five minutes to answer questions. Posters are scored on the following criteria: Quality of poster Ability to provide a clear description Ability to respond to questions All attendees will participate in judging so presenters must be prepared to describe their work to a broad scientific audience. Once the judged session is complete, presenters will remain at their poster for open discussions with attendees. Cash prizes are awarded for best poster presentations for postdoc, graduate students, undergraduates, and staff. First place in each category receives $500 and honorable mention in each category receives $250. The number of honorable mention awards will be given based on the number of poster in each category. All attendees will assist with poster judging!Physiology graduate students are required to present a poster.
