Biography and Education

Biography

Nakul Katyal MD, completed his neurology residency training at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he also served as the chief resident. Furthering his expertise, he underwent fellowship training in Neuromuscular Medicine at the prestigious Stanford University School of Medicine, California. 

His dedication to advancing both research and clinical practice has been acknowledged through numerous esteemed accolades, such as the 2021 AANEM President’s Research Initiative Award. Additionally, he holds the position of review editor for several reputable journals, including the Frontiers in Neurology.

An active participant in the field, he is a member of prominent organizations such as the American Academy of Neurology, the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and the Peripheral Nerve Society. Furthermore, he serves as an AANEM Young Ambassador and contributes to the Young Leadership Council.

His research interests encompass Myasthenia gravis and Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

 

Personal Statement 

The majority of neuromuscular conditions are categorized as rare diseases. Patients often encounter significant delays in receiving a diagnosis and may even need to relocate from their local areas to access optimal medical treatment.

As a dedicated neuromuscular expert, my passion lies in unraveling the complexities of these conditions and providing compassionate care to individuals and families affected by them. My expertise extends beyond mere clinical practice; I am driven to contribute to research efforts aimed at unlocking new insights and therapies for these often-overlooked conditions.

Through collaboration, innovation, and unwavering dedication, my mission is to bring about impactful improvements for patients in Kentucky grappling with neuromuscular conditions.
