The Graduate Medical Education (GME) Resident/Fellow of the Month program honors residents and fellows who have displayed exemplary service to patients and/or families, outstanding educational efforts, and/or humanitarian service.
September Resident of the Month: Mohamed Younis, M.D.
Dr. Younis, a PGY-5 in the Department of Nephrology, is recognized for his teamwork and leadership when assisting his patients and co-residents. Colleagues describe Dr. Yepez as someone who leads through both words and actions and has personally oriented three new Fellows to Nephrology, teaching hospital dialysis modalities at the bedside and computer. He is always willing to step up and step in for their fellow co-workers without hesitation and exhibits professionalism every single day, along with kindness, compassion and empathy. Dr. Younis was selected as a Resident Cohort participant for the American Neurological Association Futures Program, are an Editorial Board Member for the American Academy of Neurology Journal's Resident & Fellow Section, and completed the Neurology Peer Review Program in which they were mentored by an experienced Neurology reviewer. Congratulations, Dr. Younis!
