August Resident of the Month: Mario Yepez, M.D.
Dr. Yepez, a PGY-4 in the Department of Neurology, is recognized for his professionalism and leadership when assisting his patients and co-residents. Colleagues describe Dr. Yepez as someone made significant contributions to medical education by serving as an outstanding teacher, mentor, and leader for learners at multiple levels of training. Students described him as creating a great learning environment, setting clear expectations early, and allowing autonomy while providing appropriate supervision. Dr. Yepez is always the first to lend a helping hand to a busy service, even if it means sacrificing his own personal time. He is kind, compassionate with his patients and care, and provides an excellent example to junior learners about complex medical decision making. He was recognized for giving quick feedback, instilling confidence in medical students, and being encouraging and instructive. Congratulations, Dr. Yepez!
