The Graduate Medical Education (GME) Resident/Fellow of the Month program honors residents and fellows who have displayed exemplary service to patients and/or families, outstanding educational efforts, and/or humanitarian service.
February Resident of the Month: Cody Blanchard, MD
Dr. Cody Blanchard, chief resident in ophthalmology, is recognized for his leadership and commitment to strengthening the residency program. He has organized educational lectures and wet labs, expanded surgical training opportunities, and helped establish a night float system. Known for his kindness and reliability, Dr. Blanchard regularly steps in to support teammates, coordinates patient care, and mentors interns as they plan their careers. His commitment to service also extends globally through the UK Global Ophthalmology Program, where he spent a month in Kenya helping restore vision and expand access to care.
