As a fourth-year medical student I was fortunate to complete my Otolaryngology sub-internship at UK. Each day I was increasingly encouraged by the positive interactions I had with the residents, attendings, and staff. That month allowed for me to see firsthand the positive culture that has been instilled in this program for years. The residents unanimously had strong work ethics, exhibited selflessness, and were constantly striving to be the best surgeons and teammates they could be. I knew that this program would provide the influence and support for me to become the best otolaryngologist, and person in general, that I could be.
