Biography

Rashondra Rankin is a research assistant working to advance health equity in underserved communities. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from the University of Mississippi, where she gained a solid foundation in chemistry, biology, and laboratory research techniques. Currently, Rashondra is a graduate student in the Master of Science in Medical Sciences program at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. As a research assistant in the Department of Otolaryngology, Rashondra works on projects aimed at improving health outcomes for under-resourced Appalachian populations. In her role, Rashondra communicates with community members to gather their input and feedback on what matters most to them and organizes meetings with the community to better understand their health priorities and needs. She values listening to the community's voices and ensuring their perspectives are incorporated into research studies and health programs. Her goal is to help develop strategies and interventions that can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those facing the greatest health challenges.
