Biography

Julie Jacobs serves as a Research Program Administrator, and she is currently the University of Kentucky’s site Principal Investigator for the CHAMPS-DHH study. Julie earned her Master of Public Health degree from Saint Louis University in 2010, and she began her public health career at Washington University in St. Louis in the field of dissemination and implementation (D&I) research. In 2015, Julie began working with Dr. Christina Studts at the University of Kentucky, managing multiple grant-funded studies that focused on increasing access to evidence-based interventions to address and prevent behavioral problems in children. The current CHAMPS-DHH study focuses on supporting families with young children who are deaf or hard of hearing (DHH). With Dr. Studts now at the University of Colorado, Julie leads the CHAMPS-DHH study team at the University of Kentucky, while maintaining a close collaboration with Dr. Studts. Julie has a passion for community-engaged research, and she feels profoundly grateful to have spent the last nine years listening to and learning from families’ experiences and partnering with professionals who support DHH children.
