Dr. Thiel and Dr. Comer attended the Resident Update in Rhinology: Techniques in Endoscopic Sinus Surgery at the St. Louis University’s Practical Anatomy and Surgical Education lab on December 3. The course consists of morning and afternoon didactic sessions, and each session was followed by hands-on cadaver dissection. Faculty from institutions such as St. Louis University, Washington University in St. Louis, Vanderbilt, University of Kansas, Indiana University, and elsewhere help teach the course. Dr. Comer has been an invited faculty to the course for 8 years. This year he lectured on “Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery Basics”, and also was a proctor for the dissection lab. Dr. Thiel is hoping to match into a rhinology and anterior skull base fellowship, and was able to network at the course in addition to participating in advanced anterior skull base dissections.
