Organizational Well-Being Research

The Office for Organizational Well-Being has recently interviewed basic science faculty and professional staff in the College of Medicine for a research initiative committed to understanding the factors that influence your well-being and drivers of burnout.

This is an introductory step to understanding the unique stressors facing our basic science faculty and staff to assist in implementing well-being initiatives within our basic science departments, tailored to the needs and drivers of each department.

For more information regarding these and other initiatives, please contact our Research and Analytics Manager, Molly Taylor, PhD, at Molly.Taylor@uky.edu.

AAMC Joint Spring Meeting

While well-being initiatives in academic medicine have largely focused on clinicians, the experiences of basic science researchers have received far less attention. Our team at the UK College of Medicine Office for Organizational Well-Being is launching an initiative to better understand and strengthen the research environment.

At the AAMC 2026 Joint Spring Meeting this April, Associate Dean for Well-Being, Lisa Williams and Research and Analytics Manager Molly Taylor, PhD shared how they adapted a clinician well-being framework to assess researcher well-being and identify opportunities for systems-level improvement. Their work seeks to identify systems-level opportunities to support engagement and foster a sustainable culture for researchers within academic medicine.
