Fatemeh Seilani, a PhD student in the department of toxicology and cancer biology, has been selected to join the 2025 Scholar Mentoring and Development Program (SMDP) cohort!

The one-year career mentoring program serves high-potential, future leaders who have demonstrated academic excellence and come from disadvantaged backgrounds (undergraduate juniors and seniors, Baccalaureate, Master's or PhD students, and post-docs, as well as early-career researchers). They are paired with industry mentors who work at companies in the medical technology, biotechnology, and consumer health care industries.

With their mentors, the SMDP Scholars attend a 5-day training session to learn about career opportunities in industry and receive career development coaching. They also attend a major industry conference.
