Each year, the University of Kentucky recognizes faculty and graduate students for outstanding teaching during the Provost's Awards for Outstanding Teaching. Intended to identify and recognize individuals who demonstrate special dedication to student achievement and who are evincing meritorious success in their teaching, the Outstanding Teaching Award emphasizes the university’s commitment to the importance of teaching as its vital core mission in the Commonwealth, the nation, and the world.

A selection committee will review the nominees, collect additional information from nominators, and recommend winners to the provost. The award recipients will be honored and receive their awards at the Faculty Awards Ceremony. Details to come later.

The deadline for faculty, staff, and students to submit one-page initial nominations to the faculty member's (or teaching assistant’s) department chair (or school director) is 4 p.m. ET on Friday, Feb. 14, 2025.

The deadline for department chairs to submit their two-page formal nominations to the Office of the Associate Provost for Faculty Advancement is 4 p.m. ET on Friday, Feb. 28, 2025. The selection committee will use the formal nomination letters to determine a list of finalists, who will be asked to submit additional materials for consideration.
