On June 15th, UK Emergency Medicine celebrated the graduating Class of 2021. These twelve vibrant and capable physicians gathered in Lexington three years ago from across the US with the common goal of experiencing the best emergency medical training the Bluegrass State has to offer.

Graduation was held at The Campbell House in an elegant ceremony buzzing with family, friends, and ED staff. Emergency Medicine Chair Dr. Roger Humphries opened the event with some reflection and remarks. End of year awards were presented, chief residents were recognized, and then program leadership presented each graduating resident with their certificate. This group did not back down in the face of an unprecedented and unrelenting pandemic. They recruited a new class of interns during a tremendously taxing virtual interview season. The resilience they exhibit is unparalleled and the joy they exude is infectious. We are sad to see the Class of 2021 go, but we are so excited to see them thrive and succeed in the field of emergency medicine. Best of luck, graduates!
