Graduation is known as a time for reflecting on the accomplishments of our graduating class and honoring their triumphs from the past 3 years. For UKEM, we also like to celebrate the efforts made department-wide, and we have a time-honored tradition of presenting awards to faculty members, off-service colleagues, and junior residents during the graduation ceremony. This year was no different, and we were honored to present several awards to revered physicians in our department and beyond on June 15, 2022 at The Campbell House. Off-service awards are chosen by the EM residents and they are based on daily interactions with residents, consultants, and faculty members from outside of the Emergency Dept. Faculty awards are voted on by EM residents as well, and they consider each shift worked with EM faculty, each lecture during weekly conference, and the mentorship they receive from our faculty members. For awards granted to our residents, they are based on the votes of their peers and our faculty members. These are given to EM program residents that have been pacesetters for their respective classes, high scholastic achievers, and confidants and champions of those around them.
