The University of Kentucky College of Medicine is a renowned location with prominent research programs in cardiovascular diseases. The Saha Cardiovascular Research Center (Saha CVRC) and the Department of Surgery are productive and collegial environments within the College that facilitate a broad range of cardiovascular research, with particular emphasis on vascular biology and thrombosis. With substantial extramural funding, our prominent investigators are making major advances in biomedical research. Our training programs are preparing scientists and physician scientists for successful careers in academia, industry, and government.
The Saha CVRC and the Department of Surgery are currently seeking a tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant, Associate, of Full Professor rank. The successful candidate will be a core faculty member of the Saha CVRC and appointed in the Department of Surgery. We invite applications from scientists with Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. degrees who will be expected to establish an independent, extramurally funded research program in cardiovascular research addressing significant and fundamental questions. There is a preference for candidates with current extramural funding with complimentary cardiovascular science to existing programs in the Saha CVRC and Department of Surgery. The applicant should have a demonstrated interest in understanding the basic and translational mechanisms of cardiovascular disease. Women and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.
