Please join us in celebrating CHET core faculty member Danelle Stevens-Watkins, PhD, professor of educational, school, and counseling psychology in the UK College of Education. She was selected as a 2026-2027 University Research Professor.
Established by the UK Board of Trustees in 1976, the program recognizes faculty members who have demonstrated outstanding research excellence and impact across their fields.
Dr. Stevens-Watkins’ research focuses on health disparities and barriers to service utilization, with particular emphasis on substance use, HIV risk, maternal health, and the opioid crisis. Her work has been continuously funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse for more than a decade and includes leadership on multiple NIH-funded initiatives advancing health disparities research and community health outcomes.
