CHET associate director of dissemination and outreach, Carrie Oser, PhD, and CHET primary faculty member, Justin X. Moore, PhD, were both 2025 recipients of mentorship awards from the UK College of Medicine Office of Research. These annual awards recognize faculty and staff who have made outstanding contributions to basic, clinical, and translational research across the College of Medicine.

Dr. Moore received the UK College of Medicine Office of Research’s Early Career Mentoring Award in Basic, Translational or Clinical Research, which recognizes outstanding faculty mentors with less than 10 years since their first faculty appointment. Dr. Oser was honored with the Career Mentoring Award in Basic, Translational or Clinical Research, which recognizes outstanding faculty mentors with more than 10 years since their first faculty appointment. Each faculty nomination is supported by a current or past research-intensive trainees or faculty mentees. Faculty awardees are selected based on the success of their trainees (as judged by publications, awards, fellowships, and career placement after training) and trainee letters of support.
