Dr. Vaneet Arora has been awarded a grant from the Rockefeller Foundation for a project entitled, “Augmenting traditional clinical genomic surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 with wastewater data to provide valuable complementary insights for public health.” Dr. Arora is leading the effort from the University of Kentucky as Co-PI in collaboration with the University of Louisville. This 9 month, $500,000 award will focus on a new process to establish the utility and value of adding wastewater sequencing into the public health toolkit to monitor the appearance and spread of SARS-CoV-2 variants in various community populations.
