The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine's Clinical Chemistry team submitted an abstract for the upcoming PLUGS Summit in June, 2022. PLUGS (Patient-centered Laboratory Utilization Guidance Services) is a national laboratory stewardship collaborative with a mission to improve laboratory test ordering, retrieval, interpretation and reimbursement. Their efforts have been awarded "Best Abstract" by the review committee. The abstract entitled, Embracing EHR Technology to Improve Clinical Utility Review of Reference Laboratory Test Requests, was co-authored by Dr. Woodworth, Dr. Erin Schuler, Dr. Brooke Andrews and Thai Osborne.
