Requirements
 

The UK College of Medicine Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program participates in the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) and only accepts electronic applications through ERAS. Contact your medical school or ECFMG to complete the application. All ERAS materials should be available in your medical school Dean's office by July or August. The ERAS application includes:

  • Electronic Application
  • Personal Statement
  • Medical School Transcript
  • Wallet sized photo
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Dean's Letter
  • USMLE scores​

Foreign medical graduates will need to contact ECFMG (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates) regarding ERAS applications. ECFMG will transmit the application to the University of Kentucky.


Deadlines

The application deadline is Oct. 31, 2024. Only complete applications will be considered. Please include an email address with your application. We will respond to questions or concerns by email.

Interview Dates

Interview dates for 2025 are Jan. 10 & 11. These will be in-person interviews.

The department of orthopaedic surgery wants your stay in Lexington to be informative. A welcome reception will be held the night before each interview day. If you are offered an interview you will receive more information.

On your interview date, you will be given a tour of the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center and the hospital facilities.
