Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine Education Residency Application Process Applying to Our Residency Program Requirements The UK College of Medicine Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program participates in the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) and only accepts electronic applications through ERAS. Contact your medical school or ECFMG to complete the application. All ERAS materials should be available in your medical school Dean's office by July or August. The ERAS application includes: Electronic Application Personal Statement Medical School Transcript Wallet sized photo Three letters of recommendation Dean's Letter USMLE scores Foreign medical graduates will need to contact ECFMG (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates) regarding ERAS applications. ECFMG will transmit the application to the University of Kentucky. NRMP Codes Position: Five year Categorical Orthopaedic Surgery NRMP Code: 1848260C0 Deadlines The application deadline is Oct. 31, 2023. Only complete applications will be considered. Interview Dates Interview dates for 2024 are TBD. These will be in-person interviews. The department of orthopaedic surgery wants your stay in Lexington to be informative. On your interview date, you will be given a tour of the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center and the hospital facilities.
