The Center for Health Equity Transformation, the UNited In True racial Equity (UNITE) Research Priority Area, and the Center for Equality and Social Justice join President Eli Capilouto in strongly condemning the incident of anti-Black racism that occurred on the UK campus on Sunday morning. We support Kylah Spring, Kansas Perry, and all present and affected. We stand with the University of Kentucky’s Black community and recognize that there is significant work to be done in order to eradicate overt and structural racism.  We need powerful voices to eliminate hate, and we will continue to use ours to support our local communities of color. We are committed to a UK that is a safe space for all, regardless of race, ethnicity, language, socioeconomic status, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, and disability.

Experiencing and witnessing racism can be traumatic. For those who would benefit from additional support in the wake of this disturbing event, the University has compiled a list of resources for students and faculty.
