Join Juan Canedo, DHS, as he shares his research about adherence to follow-up after positive HPV test among Hispanic women. Dr. Juan Canedo, an assistant professor in the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, is a community-engaged researcher trained in sociology, health sciences, and health disparities. His personal and professional experience working in community-based organizations inspired his commitment to addressing the social inequalities experienced by Hispanic immigrants and other vulnerable populations in the US. His research has focused on the role of healthcare access and socioeconomic status in ethnic disparities in quality of care. He is currently conducting formative research to develop culturally-appropriate behavioral interventions targeting Hispanic populations focused on HPV testing for cancer prevention and early detection among Hispanic women.
