Biography and Education

Biography

I grew up in Alton, Illinois. I attended the University of Illinois Springfield on an NCAA DII women's soccer scholarship. I graduated with a B.S. in Biochemistry with minors in Spanish and Public Health. Throughout my undergraduate career, I worked in neuroscience/pharmacology for Dr. Erin and Kevin Hascup at Southern Illinois University SOM studying the role of glutamate in Alzheimer's disease and aging. I also worked for the Illinois Department of Public Health in a COVID laboratory doing R&D. Following, I interned at Washington University SOM St. Louis in neurology for Dr. John Cirrito. After graduating from UIS, I worked for Pfizer as a Bioassay Scientist II on gene therapies. Currently, I am interested in neuroimmunology and neuroinflammation.
