
Tia Weber, PhD
Tia Weber, PhD, is a clinical psychologist and assistant professor in the College of Medicine Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Weber earned her doctoral degree from the University of Kentucky and completed her clinical internship program at Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Weber is also a member of the Markey Cancer Center Prevention and Control Research program. Her research work broadly focuses on the intersection of chronic illness and substance use, with specific interest in the design and implementation of interventions to reduce substance use in patients with chronic diseases. To date, her research has focused on using improvements in quality-of-life to prompt changes in tobacco use behavior among patients with cancer. Her research methodology includes mixed-methods, quality improvement, clinical trials, and daily diary studies. Dr. Weber's work has been funded by NIH and Cancer Center Support Grants.
