How to Apply to the Addiction Medicine Fellowship

 

We are currently accepting applications for the 2026–2027 academic year. Our program participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) for placement of Addiction Medicine Fellowship positions and will submit its rank list in accordance with NRMP deadlines.

To apply, please submit your materials through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

Application Requirements

Please include the following in your ERAS application:

  • Medical school transcript and MSPE (Dean’s Letter)
  • Three letters of recommendation from faculty in your current residency program
    • One letter must be from your program director
  • USMLE or COMLEX score reports
  • Medical school diploma
  • Recent photograph
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Personal statement
  • ECFMG certificate (if applicable)
  • J-1 Visa documentation (if applicable)
  • Training Verification Form (completed by your current residency program director)

Interviews will be conducted from early August through the end of October. Interview invitations will be sent via Thalamus.

 

Eligibility  

Applicants must have completed an ACGME-accredited, RCPSC-accredited, or AOA-approved residency program prior to the fellowship start date.

While most of our fellows come from psychiatry, internal medicine, or family medicine backgrounds, we welcome applicants from all specialties, including physician career changers.

All fellows must be licensed or eligible for medical licensure in the state of Kentucky.
