Cody Bumgardner, PhD, is a co-investigator on a newly funded grant from the National Institute on Drug Abuse titled “Rapid Actionable Data for Opioid Response in Kentucky (RADOR-KY)”. This project is a collaboration with UK Internal Medicine and UK Behavioral Science. Jeffrey Talbot, MD, is the PI. Congratulations Dr. Bumgardner!
Katie Bussing, MD, William O’Connor, MD, and Justin Rueckert, DO, recently participated in a STEM Camp offered at UK through the Center for Interprofessional & Community Health Education. Their section of the camp was titled “How do we keep learning about the body and illness? Pathologists study organs and tissues affected by disease to find answers for better treatments in the future.” They were commended by the director for doing a wonderful job keeping the students engaged. Jing Di, MD, has won first prize for the best poster presented at USCAP 2024 in Pulmonary Pathology! The project titled “Characterizing the Small Cell Lung Cancer Tumor Immune Microenvironment for Precision Immunotherapy: A Pilot Study” is a collaboration with Dana Napier, Kim Absher, MD, Emily Bachert, MD, Therese Bocklage, MD, Akif Guney, MD, Justin Miller, PhD, and Dava Piecoro, MD. Excellent work everyone!
Dr. Jing Di also has an abstract titled “NSD3::NUTM1 Fusion Sarcoma Mimicking Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumor: An Exceptional Case Study” that has been accepted for a 5-minute oral presentation in the 25th Annual Duel in Dermatopathology Resident Abstract Competition at the 61st Annual Meeting of The American Society of Dermatopathology (ASDP).
