Research

Research in our laboratory focuses on translating mechanistic insights into therapeutic strategies that target glial and neuronal metabolism in traumatic brain injury (TBI). We focus on identifying targetable genes that regulate metabolic flux, NADH/NAD⁺ redox balance, lipid signaling, and mitochondrial stress pathways. To dissect these mechanisms, we employ multiple transgenic animal models combined with molecular, biochemical, and multi-omics approaches. Through this work, we aim to develop interventions that restore neurovascular metabolic homeostasis, preserve neuronal integrity, and enhance long-term neuroprotective outcomes following TBI.
