Congratulations to Dr. Ai-Ling Lin, colleagues- Dr. Anika Hartz and DPNS students-Jared Hoffman and Lucy Yanckello on their recent articles in Scientific Reports and/or Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience! Following research involving cognitive function and diet, their results point to improved cerebral blood flow as well as lower blood-glucose levels and body weight involved with a specific diet, rich in fat and lacking in carbohydrates (also known as the Ketogenic Diet). While these results have only been found in research involving lab rats, they hope to see similar results when applied to human clinical trials. Using neuroimaging to see changes occurring in a live brain, Dr. Lin's research is one of the most promising and fascinating leads for treatments of diseases such as Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative ailments.
She was featured in a UKnow article by Laura Wright that came out this Tuesday.
Congratulation Ai-Ling!
