Faculty Positions
The department of microbiology, immunology, and molecular genetics at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine is recruiting PhD, MD, or MD/PhD scientists to fill tenure-track, open-rank faculty positions in three different areas of emphasis:
Tumor Immunology
The successful candidate will join the thriving faculty of the Markey Cancer Center, an NCI designated center, whose research programs include a unique blend of basic, clinical, and population research. Research areas of interest include basic cancer immunotherapy, tumor microenvironment, cancer immunogenomics, cancer immune-metabolism, population based immuno-omics, immune monitoring and biomarker discovery, cancer vaccines, bioinformatics, and systems biology. Assistant professor, associate professor, or professor in microbiology, immunology, and molecular genetics - FE02716 – 51048668 - https://ukjobs.uky.edu/postings/347952.
Virology
We seek scientists who will pursue a research program in viral immunology, virus-host interactions, viral pathogenesis, or related areas in virology relevant to human disease. Ideal applicants will be creative and collaborative scientists using state-of-the-art approaches that combine genomics, cell biology, genetics, bioinformatics, biochemistry, and in-vitro or in-vivo models of infection. Assistant professor, associate professor, or professor in microbiology, immunology, and molecular genetics - FE02717 – 51048669 - https://ukjobs.uky.edu/postings/347959.
Microbiome
We seek a scientist whose research program investigates how to disentangle host-microbiome interactions broadly across disease states. Potential research areas include (but are not limited to) investigating how the microbiome modulates host responses to infection/vaccination, cancer immunotherapy, neuro-inflammation, aging, and drug/alcohol abuse. Assistant professor, associate professor, or professor in microbiology, immunology, and molecular genetics – FE02715 – 51048667 - https://ukjobs.uky.edu/postings/347939.
Who We Are Looking For
Successful candidates will have track records of creativity and productivity, a desire to integrate into our growing community of collaborative researchers, and a dedication to our values of diversity.
