Women in Medicine and Science (WIMS) is hosting a new initiative for leadership development that is tailored to the individual.

The program, titled “Putting the Personal in Personal Development: A Small-Group Mentor-Led Workshop,” or "P3D," will pair participants with a mentor whose general leadership position is something they aspire to pursue in their careers. Participants will focus on specific prompts and reflect on them throughout the program, then share lessons learned at the end.

This year will be the inaugural run. All UK College of Medicine faculty, students, and staff across campuses and sites are invited to apply. Applications are open for approximately 10 participants.

“We want this to be a small group so everyone becomes more familiar with the cohort and can freely share their successes and struggles in the context of the topics that will be covered,” said WIMS Chair April Hatcher, PhD.

This program is intended to allow for more experience and serve as a stepping stone into more competitive programs for leadership development, like the Women’s Executive Leadership Development (WELD) that is University-wide.
