Annual Visiting Professor Program

Also known as "WIMS Day," this one-day program held every year in the fall features a nationally-renown visiting professor. Several lectures and workshops are offered throughout the day covering a wide range of topics on career development, work/life balance, leadership skills, and more.

All faculty and trainees are encouraged to attend. Past programs have featured Deborah E. Powell, MD, former chair of the AAMC Board; Claire Pomeroy, MD, president of the Albert and Mary Lasker Foundation; Lois Margaret Nora, MD, JD, MBA, president and CEO of the American Board of Medical Specialties; and Deborah C. German, MD, dean of the University of Central Florida College of Medicine.

Our fifth annual WIMS Day was October 2019. This event featured two keynote lectures with Laura Schweitzer, PhD, followed by an award ceremony recognizing those with excellence in leadership and mentoring, and breakout sessions throughout the day.
