As a reminder, the University of Kentucky defines an investigator in the Administrative Regulations 7:2 as, “project director or principal investigator/program director, co-investigator, collaborator, senior/key personnel, faculty associate, and any other person, regardless of title or position, who is responsible for the design, conduct, reporting, or proposing of research or other activity that is sponsored by an extramural agency.” Investigators also include “other significant contributors” and “sub-investigators.” All investigators on a sponsored project proposal should be included on the Internal Approval Form, or IAF.
