 Overview:

In order to improve scientific research and advance human health, the National Institute of Health is required by law to make peer-reviewed articles available to the public on PubMed Central.  All scientists receiving NIH funding must submit a final peer-reviewed manuscript to PubMed Central immediately upon acceptance for publication.

 Awardees Responsibility:

  • Does the policy apply to the manuscript?  Click here to determine applicability.

  • Determine the appropriate submission method to deposit the paper upon acceptance for publication.  For more information on the 4 methods, click here.

  • Cite the article with a PMCID every time you list it.  For citation instructions, click here.
