The University of Kentucky is pleased to announce an upcoming workshop for faculty members planning to apply for Fulbright funding, for international work. We will host Peter VanDerwater, Director of Outreach for the Fulbright Scholar Program, who will be at UK on Tuesday, May 3rd. There will be opportunity for 1-on-1 consultations throughout the day, as well as a panel discussion in the afternoon involving Peter and UK faculty who have recently been Fulbright scholars.

Fulbright programs are one of the most accessible and versatile sources of funding for scholars to conduct research, teach, or serve as specialists abroad. There are many different types of programs, from semester- or year-long to just a few weeks, depending on your needs or availability. This is a great way to spend a sabbatical or to develop research partnerships. Most application deadlines for 2017-2018 are in August 2016, so this is the time to be thinking about it (see attached flyer, or http://www.cies2.org/controls/email_marketing/admin/email_marketing_email_viewer.aspx?sid=1064&gid=1&eiid=3007&seiid=1698&usearchive=1&puid=8c0e1e80-1903-44f8-b55a-dfc2b59fbbdb)

The support of an advisor from the Fulbright Scholar Program, to help with the design and completion of Fulbright applications, can increase our access to this generous source of external funding.
