Clinical Research Support Office (CRSO) Kickoff Event

Background

On January 31, 2018, the Academic Growth Drive Team approved the recommendations of the UK BEST project to:

• Create a centralized clinical trials administrative office (Clinical Research Support Office - “CRSO”) that will reduce administrative burdens, enhance compliance, and help remove barriers to enable efficiency, internal/external collaboration, cost recovery, and growth;
• Extend the OnCore Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS) beyond the Markey Cancer Center to the College of Medicine and other colleges, while also expanding its use to leverage features that improve financial business controls, enhance revenue, manage cash flow, and advance research billing compliance capabilities.

Project Goals:

This project is a collaborative effort that includes the University, College of Medicine, Center for Clinical and Translational Science, and UK HealthCare. 

The goals of this project are consistent with our university institutional research mission to expand research across the full range of disciplines. More specifically, the services provided by the CRSO will reduce administrative burdens on the study teams. Expanding OnCore to the enterprise wide will provide the study teams with tools to manage their day-to-day operations and make it possible to perform more comprehensive reporting on key clinical trial metrics.

How and When?

The formal project kick-off will occur May 8, 2018 at 8 a.m. in the Karpf Auditorium in Chandler Hospital Pavilion A. All interested parties are invited to attend.  The implementation project is expected to last approximately 18 months and will occur in two phases.
