June 17, 2025, Noon - 2:00 p.m. ClinSci Connect Kickoff - promoting translational research between clinicians and scientists Pav H, HG611
Event Details
We are excited to launch ClinSci Connect, a pilot program within the College of Medicine designed to foster meaningful collaboration and promote translational research between clinicians and scientists. The program will facilitate connections and offer guidance to help teams build strong, productive partnerships.
We will kick off the initiative with a presentation from Clark Files, MD, entitled "Mechanisms of Muscle Wasting and the Response to Movement in Critically Ill Patients," as part of the Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series. Dr. Files is a Professor of Medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He is a pulmonary and critical care physician-scientist interested in translational research on severe pneumonia, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), and sepsis.
Dr. Files' presentation will be followed by a panel discussion featuring UK investigators who have built successful clinician-scientist collaborations.
