Wellness Resources
Faculty, staff, and learners on all campuses can access mental health resources online or by phone. Use Talkspace or contact the UK Counseling Center for support, or access one of the campus-specific resources below.
- Counseling Services
- The University of Kentucky offers free, 24/7 telehealth counseling services to all students. Call 859-257-8701 to schedule an appointment or speak with a clinician.
- Office of LGBTQ* Resources
- Talkspace
- Access mental health clinicians through Talkspace, a secure online text and video chat platform. Free for all UK students, including unlimited messaging and two sessions per month.
- Headspace
- Meditation and sleep app that may help with stress and anxiety
- Calm
- Available free for all clinicians with NPI numbers.
- UK Healthcare SOAR (Supporting One Another to Rise) multidisciplinary team to help cope with PTSD, loss and assault. Call 859-323-SOAR.
- UK HR - REST Program
- UK HealthCare Psychiatry developed a program called REST – Reaching out to Employees with Stress reduction and behavioral health Treatment. REST provides UK HealthCare faculty and staff a range of stress reduction, coping skills and behavioral resources. Call 859-323-6201 for more.
- Fitness Blender
- Free exercise website recommended by Mayo Clinic wellness coach Dan Abraham from the Healthy Living Center.

Lexington Campus
- Graduate Medical Education Emotional Resources
- The Woodland Group
- Up to 12 free individual counseling sessions per year are available for medical students. Contact 859-825-8986 to schedule an appointment or email WoodlandWellnessGroup@gmail.com.
- Emergent Psychiatry Services
- Access to confidential consultation is available through the UK Department of Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic during business hours, five days per week. The telephone number is 859-323-6021. Follow prompts for the Outpatient Clinic.
- Lexington Medical Society (LMS) Physician Wellness Program – 8 free sessions per calendar year (12 for medical students). Not affiliated with UK. For appointments call 1-800-350-6438.
- Ridge Behavioral System - 24-hour psychiatric services, 859-268-6400.
- Big Blue Pantry
- Located in White Hall Classroom Building, the pantry provides food assistance to students with a valid UK ID who are experiencing food insecurity.
Bowling Green Campus
- Counseling and Mental Health Resources
- Local support services and resources are available for students at the Bowling Green Campus to maintain mental health, physical health, and overall well-being.
Morehead Campus

- Counseling services are provided through St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead for mental health support.
- NAMI Morehead
- Engage with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Morehead Facebook Group for community support and resources.
Northern Kentucky Campus

- National Alliance on Mental Illness resources and support are available for students at the Northern Kentucky Campus.
- Northern Kentucky Health Department
- Public health resources and services offered by the Northern Kentucky Health Department support student wellness.
- Mental Health America
- Access mental health resources and support services through Mental Health America of Northern Kentucky and Southwest Ohio.
