Team Surgery Shenanigans created to take 2016 Polar Plunge for Kentucky Special Olympics
Division Administrator Pete Rogers invites the staff and physicians of the Department of Surgery to discover what he and the world’s polar bears already know. There is nothing more refreshing and personally satisfying than a quick plunge into a pool on an early Saturday afternoon in February.
Of course, there is the added benefit of supporting Special Olympics Kentucky. The Polar Plunge is one of the organization’s largest and most popular fundraisers of the year, according to its website.

Every year the American Heart Association hosts a myriad of researchers in the field of cardiovascular health and disease prevention in its annual Scientific Sessions. For four days (November 7-11) Orlando, Florida was home to the gathering of brilliant ideas, which were shared in poster and oral presentations, and among friends and colleagues throughout the Sessions. Several faculty members from the Saha Cardiovascular Research Center were in attendance, as presenters of their research, and moderators for the Scientific Sessions related to their field.
