Research
Dr. Lu's research focuses on the pathogenesis and molecular mechanisms of cardiovascular diseases, including atherosclerosis, aortic aneurysms and dissections, and renin-angiotensin regulation of cardiovascular function. She has particular expertise in characterizing and interpreting heterogeneous pathological changes in aortopathies, with a strong emphasis on team science and collaborative research. Dr. Lu is also deeply committed to rigor, reproducibility, and transparency in medical research. She serves as Senior Technical Review Editor for ATVB (Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology) and as Technical and Compliance Editor for Circulation Research, where she evaluates original research manuscripts for adherence to NIH principles and reporting standards. Through her research, editorial leadership, and collaborative service, Dr. Lu contributes to advancing high-quality cardiovascular science and strengthening the broader research community.
