Research at the University of Kentucky Sanders-Brown Center on Aging has identified two potential ways to predict vascular cognitive impairment and dementia (VCID) – the second leading cause of dementia behind Alzheimer's disease.

Kentucky Office of Rural Health Director Ernie Scott received the 2018 James D. Bernstein Mentoring Award from the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) on Oct. 17 at the group’s annual meeting in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

The General Surgery residency programs at the University of Kentucky and University of Louisville competed in a resident skills competition during the annual meeting of the Kentucky Chapter of the American College of Surgeons on Friday afternoon, October 12. The University of Louisville prevailed as overall competition champion, but individual winners were evenly split between the two programs.
