The Lexington Herald Leader recently posted a video featuring Dr. Avinash Bhakta and his research on the impact of the Affordable Care Act on Colorectal Screening in Kentucky.

At the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging annual meeting, it was an opportunity for some former advanced cardiovascular imaging fellows to meet up with the current fellows. At the conference, Dr. Patrick Hurley gave an oral presentation of a case related to regadenoson causing coronary steal, in collaboration with fellow alumni Dr. Arash Seratnahaei (Gen Cards/ACI). Dr. Ahmad Elashery presented a poster of a rare case of caval foramen hernia (in press for Circulation: Cardiovascular Imaging).

Five students from the University of Kentucky placed in the UK Global Health Case Competition (GHCC), which rallied both undergraduate and graduate students from various colleges to collaborate on revolutionary research. Together, they worked toward a common goal — solving a global health concern. This year, competitors were tasked with tackling refugee health.
