The University of Kentucky Center of Excellence in Rural Health and the UK CCTS Community Engagement and Research Program are requesting applications for the 2020 Community Leadership Institute of Kentucky (CLIK). CLIK is an intensive leadership development training program in Hazard, Kentucky.  It is designed to enhance research and capacity-building competencies in community leaders, senior staff, directors and administrators.

Rosalind Ritchie, MD, is a professor in the University of Kentucky College of Medicine Department of Anesthesiology and was recently named chair of the college’s Faculty of Color Network, an organization with a vision of being undeniable, uncompromising, and unstoppable in pursuing diversity and inclusion. She enrolled in the first class of UK’s Women’s Executive Leadership Development Program and is the medical director of UK Chandler Hospital’s Center for Advanced Surgery.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 1, 2020) — Alan Daugherty, senior associate dean for research at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, has been selected to serve as chair of Scientific Committee of the Sarnoff Cardiovascular Research Foundation, an organization that trains medical students to be leaders in cardiovascular science and medicine.

The Society of Research Administrators International will be presenting its 2020 Hartford-Nicholson Award to University of Kentucky faculty Nathan Vanderford. Vanderford, an assistant professor in the Department of Toxicology and Cancer Biology in the UK College of Medicine, will receive the award at the SRAI Virtual Annual Meeting in October. He was chosen for the award due to his advocacy, dedication and continuous contributions of knowledge to SRAI as the editor-in-chief of its Journal of Research Administration.

The survey below is entirely voluntary. We are creating a way for students to anonymously self-report a positive COVID status for themselves or having had close contact with an individual who has a positive COVID status. It was developed to assist faculty in the Department of Toxicology and Cancer Biology in determining the need to have classes in-person or online. COVID testing results are protected by HIPAA and faculty may not be contacted by contact tracers.
