Visiting Students
Thank you for your interest in a visiting rotation at UK Urology. We have five rotations that students rotate through. These rotations include:
- Oncology
- Endourology
- Female and Reconstruction
- Pediatric Urology
- VA Urology
Students will get exposure to four of the five rotations during their time here.
Away Rotation Dates
Rotation dates are set by our College of Medicine. Students must rotate according to the 4-week blocks specified in VSLO. In rare circumstances, our department can work with students to modify the end date of an acting internship with clinical time being made up at a later date in the academic year. However, start dates absolutely cannot be changed due to College of Medicine orientation trainings. All UK College of Medicine rotation dates can be seen here.
- Block 1: June 3, 2024 - June 30, 2024
- Block 2 : July 1, 2024 - July 28, 2024
- Block 3 : July 29, 2024 - August 25, 2024
- Block 4 : August 26, 2024 - September 22, 2024
- Block 5 : September 23, 2024 - October 20, 2024
University of Kentucky Department of Urology URiM Acting Internship Scholarship
To recruit residents from diverse backgrounds, the University of Kentucky College of Medicine Department of Urology is pleased to provide the URiM Acting Internship (AI) scholarships. The scholarship provides $2,000 to help cover the costs of travel, lodging, and other expenses associated with the four-week rotation. Two scholarship awards are available.
- Rising fourth-year medical students interested in urology residency training in good academic standing at an accredited US medical school
- Students who identify as Under-Represented in Medicine and/or Urology
- Students who identify as socioeconomically disadvantaged
- Students whose pathway to medical training includes substantial personal or financial adversity
